The auto auction and wholesale industries are broad, nuanced and ever-changing. That’s what makes this business interesting, right? But it’s a lot to keep up with, especially when your business depends on it.
That’s why the 20th anniversary of the National Remarketing Conference, presented by SmartAuction, is designed to cover all facets of the auto auction industry, from ancillary services, digital development to new investments, shifts in the industry and more.
The event offers keynotes, fireside chats, panels, workshops and more that are designed to explore the current wholesale environment — with all its challenges and opportunities.
For example, the first keynote address of the NRC features Peter Kelly, President of KAR Global. Since the development of the first automobile, people have had big ideas that spawned from the elaborate to the unattainable—with a generous dose of inspiration from science fiction. And as revolutionary as that first automobile more than a century ago—today’s options just might have tested the limits of our imaginations. That’s how Kelly has set up his presentation. So, is the future now? Find out at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 in the Red Rock Ballroom at Used Car Week 2019.

A fireside chat later in the day will explore the changing auto remarketing landscape — and how and where independent auto auctions are innovating with creative business strategies to meet the challenges of a new day. This session, “Innovation and Independents: A Fireside Chat”, sponsored by IAG, features two of the most respected names in the auto-auction industry: Bob McConkey, President and CEO, McConkey Auction Group, and John Brasher, Executive Director, ServNet. This session will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14,, also in the Red Rock Ballroom.
IAA, now a publicly traded company as of this year, will explore the topic of “Exceeding the Needs of a Global Buyer Base,” at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Are you staying until Thursday? I would. Zach Hallowell, VP, Manheim Digital, will be closing out the event with a look at what the “digital revolution” really means for you! The session is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14.

Later in the week, three Buyers & Sellers panels will be held, designed to explore the consignment industry from every angle. Read more on the new NRC panel series.
