As the whole of the U.S. is finishing up their summer vacations, gearing up for the season change and the onset of fall — think Pumpkin Spice and “Hocus Pocus” reruns — the team at Cherokee Media Group is preparing for its biggest event of the year: Used Car Week.
Don’t worry — we mostly don’t mind the work (though, yep, it’s a LOT) — but it will all be worth it when we convene for the week-long event, Nov. 12-16, at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, in Scottsdale, Ariz. I mean, look at it this way: We’re giving you an excuse to go to a spa.
And the event certainly wouldn’t be the success that it is every year (1,341 industry professionals attended in 2017; our best numbers yet) if not for its presenting sponsors.
Used Car Week, as most of you who are reading this already know, is comprised of the Pre-Owned Con, Repo Con and Auto Fin Con events, which occur during the first block of the conferences (Nov. 12-14). The second block of UCW includes the National Remarketing Conference and annual National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) convention (Nov. 14-16).
The below 2018 presenting sponsors, along with our attendees and speakers, collectively help make Used Car Week the success that it is:
- Pre-Owned Con: Equifax
- Auto Fin Con: DRN and Allied Solutions
- Repo Con: Millennium Capital & Recovery Corp.
- National Remarketing Conference: Ally/SmartAuction
These companies not only provide support for these respective events, but they also offer expertise and deep levels of knowledge through some of their top analysts, execs and business leaders. These individuals have the pulse on a wide range of sectors of the used-car industry — and it shows.
Check out what our 2018 presenting sponsors are bringing to the table this year:
Equifax to Drop Knowledge on Cybersecurity
Chris Klingenspor, SVP of global security risk at Equifax, is set to launch the Used Car Week events with the first keynote of the week, exploring one of the top concerns of dealers and used-car industry professionals today: Cybersecurity. Find out what you can’t afford to ignore when it comes to cyber threats today.
Plus much more from the Equifax Automotive team:
Peter Oburu, VP, Data & Analytics, Equifax, is hosting an Auto Fin Con workshop on alternative data. Explore how alternative data streams can provide insight into consumer risk.
Jennifer Reid, VP, Vertical Marketing Leader, Equifax, will participate on the very first Women in Auto Finance Panel as a 2018 Women in Auto Finance Honoree; and Clair Wallace, Industry Marketer, Equifax, will offer insight on our Women in Remarketing Panel as a 2018 Women in Remarketing Honoree.
DRN and Allied to Focus on Auto Fin Trends that Impact Your Biz
DRN — a repossession technology company — and financial solutions company Allied Solutions, are partnering to head up Auto Fin Con during Used Car Week. Collectively, the two will be offering three sessions.
They will be teaming up for a Breakfast roundtable on Wednesday that will cover the latest trends in the auto finance and repossession industries. Becky Igo, Regional Vice President at Allied Solutions, and Stephen Nethery, SVP Client Services at DRN, will both help lead this relevant conversation for all auto finance and repo execs.
The pair of companies are also on the schedule for a Used Car Week keynote lender panel earlier in the week on Tuesday, headed up by Jeremiah Wheeler, EVP and GM, Fintech, at DRN; and Anne Holtzman, Senior Vice President, Claims & Recovery, Allied Solutions. And don’t miss out on DRN’s Skip Tracing panel on Tuesday, as well, which will include experts like skip-trace guru Alex Price and more.
Millennium Capital & Recovery Explores Intelligent Automation
Skip-tracing services company Millennium Capital & Recovery Corp. will contribute to Repo Con not only with its support through a presenting sponsorship, but also with a general session for our Repo Con attendees, titled, “Intelligent Automation: ↑ Recoveries, ↓ Losses,” lead by the company’s Chief Managing Officer Jeff Marsh.
Marsh is also kicking off things at Repo Con as a moderator for our forwarding panel, “Forwarding Forecast: Managing Assignments and Vendors at High-Volume Market,” for those attendees looking to get a fresh perspective on today’s repossession and forwarding industry. This panel also includes execs from PAR North America, Primeritus, Del Mar Recovery Solutions, ALS-Resolvion and Consolidated Asset Recovery Systems (CARS).
Ally, Smart Auction Leaders Cover the Latest in Auto Finance & Remarketing
Ally’s Used Car Week coverage starts with Tammy Linkfield, Ally Senior Regional Vice President, who will not only participate in a discussion during Auto Fin Con that will explore new fintech and the latest developments in auto finance, but also is a member of the inaugural Women in Auto Finance panel, sponsored by American Recovery Solutions. The Women in Auto Finance panel, which features members from our new Women in Auto Finance awards program, includes leaders from across the auto fin business, including well-known brands like Toyota Financial Services, J.P Morgan Chase & Co., Fiserv and more.
Megan Lindsey, Director, Operations Support at Ally, will be joining the Women in Remarketing class of 2018 discussion — sponsored by Ally Financial — as an honoree and panelist.
And lastly, Jason Alba, executive director of remarketing at Ally, is offering his expertise during our Consignor-focused panel, “Consignors’ Perspective: The State of the Used Car Industry.”
These are just a taste of the offerings from our over 100 speakers at Used Car Week, courtesy of our five presenting sponsors. Used Car Week 2017 featured over 165 speakers across the span of 110 sessions and events.
This is just the beginning of our coverage of the latest developments from behind the scenes at Used Car Week!
